Tony held ground. He had the position. Jerk, I mean Kurt, moved up and go into Smoke. Tony was guilty of racing, period! Kurt and Kyle are as bad as Juan Pablo Mantoya. Kurt will get a good fine on Tuesday if I'm guessing.

    Re: Kurt Busch

I don't think the "modern day" just constitutes the time period since Miami actually got to where they could win some games...the modern era began with the advent of the forward pass. In the NFL, the "modern era" began with the merger. I'm not a UT fan...actually I hate 'em...but I will say this: You can take any team from any conference and put them in the SEC and they will be no better than the best 2 or 3 teams in the conference. Miami played as an independent for years, and those weak schedules contributed to their won loss record. And the teams from the other conferences would fare no better in the SEC. And, not so long ago, the matchmakers for the bowls felt like it was detrimental to have a team with a loss in a national championship game, which crippled alot of excellent SEC teams. After all, last year everyone thought the OSU-Michigan game was to tell the tale concerning the national championship...little did they realize it was the prelude to another OSU beatdown at the hands of the SEC. So, you guys can go on and on all ya want about the U this, and The U that...but since they have joined a real conference (and calling the ACC that is an extremely liberal use of the word "real"...but it's better than the "big east"..lol..(what a joke))...tell me, exactly what have they done?
...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....

Since anything pre 79 isn't true history, how about we compared head to head records of da U and UT?

    Re: Kurt Busch

The thing about the U and many other so called "elite" teams is this...they can beat up on Syracuse, Temple, Northwestern, Navy, etc etc for years and claim to have an elite squad cuz at the end of the season they get good bowl games...maybe they have a test or 2 during the year...but nothing major if you look at the total schedule. Teams in the SEC have the hardest row to hoe in the entire nation. Before the current setup (when the SEC had no divisions and less teams), teams had to play LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, and LSU in the same year. I challenge ANY team in the nation to take up that schedule and come out undefeated. Now days, it is no easier...my reasoning is this:..you still have to play all teams in the division and to win the conference you have to beat the best team from the other division (not counting "marquee" rivalry games against teams from the other division)...So, like I said, ANY team that wants to claim to be the best in the NCAA takes a second row seat behind the SEC champion in my book.

Auburn would have gotten ass-raped by SC in 04, just like UiF would have had the same thing happen in 01 had they made the Rose Bowl. Hell, Oregon would have killed UF in 01.

I know where your coming from, and I agree that the SEC is a heck of a football conference. But seeing some of the SEC elite beaten by some middle of the road teams from other conferences in Bowl Games every year makes me a little skeptical. I know they beat up on each other during the season, but you think they would roll in their bowl games. Last year I think was an exception, I'm pretty sure the SEC as a whole had a good bowl record, but there were still some really close games and a couple losses that probably wasn't predicted.
